The Servilia blazer is a representation of the relationship between Julius Caesar and his alleged mistress, Servilia (Brutus’s mother). The use of elements of royal portraiture and a hint of hedonistic tension brings about a desire to evoke emotional states by appealing to the senses, and a tendency to blur distinctions between the various arts associated with grandeur, sensuous richness, and drama.
